Venues and Programmes
The Ikon Gallery on Oozells Square features rotating displays from artists based in the Jewellery Quarter while the nearby Symphony Hall on Broad Street hosts the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in a series of evening concerts through the end of the month. Both sites sit within a short walk of the canal network that connects Brindleyplace to the city centre.
Additional programming includes drop-in workshops at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on Chamberlain Square that run on Saturdays through August.
Attendance and Pricing Details
Last summer the same venues recorded 48,000 combined visitors across the first two weeks of July according to city tourism figures with average ticket prices listed at £15 for gallery entry and £22 for orchestra seats. This year organisers added discounted £12 rates for under-25s on weekdays to widen access.
Advance booking opened on the venues' websites on June 28 and early sales passed 9,000 tickets by the end of the first weekend.
Visitors can check availability on the Ikon and Hippodrome sites or visit the box offices on site before 6pm on weekdays to secure same-day entry.
